The Fat Flush Plan -Liver Cleanse Diet Introduction
The best liver cleanse diet I have seen so far is the fat flush diet plan, created by Ann Louise Gittleman Ph.D., C.N.S. It was designed to cleanse out the liver in order to help the body burn fat and calories more efficently.
The fat flush plan is not just a weight loss diet it also shows you how to improve your health while losing weight. It is a healthy liver diet and weight loss program all in one.
It is a three phase diet plan that is made up of:
Phase 1. A two week fat flush (based on 1100-1200 calories per day)
Phase 2. An ongoing fat flush (based on 1200-1500 calories per day)
Phase 3. A lifestyle eating plan (based on 1800 calories plus per day)
This diet plan allows you to also customize your diet based on you’re own tastes by choosing from a list of fat flushing foods.

Phase 1 A two week fat flush liver cleanse diet
This starting phase for this liver cleansing diet is based on ridding the body of toxins and poisons in order to allow the liver to be able to perform it’s fat-burning duties more effectively.
It makes use of flax seed oil combined with diet and exercise to flush out the toxic liver. The oil can attract oil-soluble toxins that have been stuck in fatty tissue in the body and flush them out more easily.
This phase of the liver cleanse diet /fat flush plan is based on getting 1100-1200 calories a day.
You stay on this detox diet phase for two weeks. If you have more then 25 pounds to lose then you could stay on this phase for up to one month.
Phase 2 – The ongoing fat flush liver cleanse diet
This phase is the next step for anybody who has more weight to lose but wants to keep going on a more moderate cleansing and weight lose program.
It includes the fat flushing foods from phase 1 with up to two carbohydrate choices put back in the menu one at a time each week.
You may notice a slow down in weight lose because of the additional carboydrates that have been added back to the diet, however losing weight slowly is always a good thing.
It is based on getting 1200-1500 calories a day.
The goal here is to stay on this phase until you have reached your weight loss goals before moving on to the “lifestyle eating plan” phase.
It requires that you keep a journal so in case you add on a pound or two you will be able to track the foods that seem to disagree with you and cause bloating, sleepiness, gas etc.
This way you will learn which foods to cut out or minimize from your diet all together.
Phase 3 The lifestyle eating plan to stay clean and keep weight off
This phase is basically the life-time maintenance program for lifetime weight loss. It offers over 1800 calories a day and is designed to increase your vitality and well being for life.
Phase 3 is more appropriate for both pregnant and breast feeding women because of the higher calorie and calcium content. In this phase you will be adding back up to two dairy products as well as two more carbs.
As in phase two you will add these foods one at a time to make sure you can tolerate them without any allergic reactions.
Also, just in case you gain back some weight, you don’t want this weight to be in the form of toxic fat, such as cellulite for example. So, on this phase a supplement called CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is introduced.
In a clinical trial in which one of eighty overweight people who dieted had regained weight, it was found that those who took CLA put the weight back on in a ratio of half fat to half muscle.
All three phases of this diet and exercise program include powerful nutrients that cleanse and support the liver help with fat and carbohydrate metabolism. These include
dandelion root, Oregon grape root, methionine, inositol, choline, lipase, chromium, milk thistle and the nutrient L-carnitine, an amino acid shown to raise the body’s fat burning ability eleven times.
