The Cabbage Soup Diet Plan has been called “An Emergency Diet.” That statement is true because the Cabbage Soup Diet can help you lose 7-10 pounds in 1-week.

This diet is very low-cal, high fiber, and inexpensive diet to follow.

As with most diets, it is best to talk to your doctor before starting. He will be able to monitor the state of your health before you begin.


While on this diet, you might want to take some multi-vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids and minerals. Since this is a calorie restrictive diet, it is important to get missing nutrients rom vitamin supplements.

It is not advisable to do strenuous exercise while on this diet.


Benefits of The Cabbage Soup Diet Plan

Features of The Cabbage Soup Diet Plan:

• you have to reduce workouts, running and any hard or/and mental work
• you can follow this diet only for 7 days, you should stop it for 2-3 weeks
•you must stop the diet when feeling bad, tired, exhausted, etc.
• you have to reduce any sugars, salt, junk food and other unhealthy products from the diet
• you need to drink a lot (minimum 6-8 glasses per day)
• you can replace some of the foods, but only those that are permitted by the following list

D-1: all fruits (exception – bananas) and unsweetened juice;
D-2: all veggies (exception – 1 jacket potato per day);
D-3: all fruits and veggies (exception – potatoes and bananas);
D-4: bananas (8 pieces per day) and unlimited skim milk;
D-5: 600 g lean beef or chicken + 8 tomatoes
D-6: beef and unlimited veggies (exception – potatoes);
D-7: some brown rice, all veggies (exception – potatoes) and unsweetened juices.

The Cabbage Soup Recipe

1) Chop 5-6 medium onions. Fry them in a pan (use spray oil for greasing).
2) Chop 2 large bell peppers and add them into the pan containing the onion.
3) Chop ½ head cabbage, cubed 3 carrots, 1 bunch celery, and 350 g mushrooms.
4) Put fried onion and bell pepper into the large pot and add prepared veggies from step 3.
5) Use your favorite seasoning.
6) Add 12-13 cups of water or broth.
7) Cook until fully cooked (over a medium heat).

This is a pro, causing weight loss, but also a con, as it slows your metabolism greatly and is nearly worthless if you don’t continue changing your eating habits once you begin to eat solid foods again. However, if you have a few pounds to lose and you need to do it before that big date or upcoming event then a liquid diet plan might just work for you as a short-term diet.

There are many different types of liquid diets, from the Reboot juicing plan, to the Master Cleanse, to the Martha’s Vineyard Detox, and the information can be overwhelming.

Choosing the right one for you is crucial.

Here are 3 of the top liquid diet plans.

Liquid Diet Plan 1

The Reboot Juicing plan

60 days of drinking nothing but fruit and vegetable juice, limiting yourself to the less-sugary intake.

Could you do a liquid diet plan or the reboot juicing plan?

Joe Cross, famous for Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead did, juicing his way across the United States and sharing his healthy way of losing weight.

The typical Reboot is 15 to 30 days, though for long-term juicing-only diets, you should consult a doctor.

The side effects of a Reboot are dizziness, fatigue, headaches, and bad breath. Drink more to resolve most of these side effects, and don’t take non-prescription vitamins and

For a week leading up to the reboot, reduce processed and refined foods, fast foods, caffeine, dairy, and meat. Get extra sleep and drink proper amounts of water.

During the plan, you consume only herbal teas, coconut water, water, and your juices. Reboot juices should be 80% veggie, 20% fruit.

Joe Cross provides an excellent color-coded juice library in his free 5-day plan for any beginner, suggesting that they choose specific color-oriented juices for specific meals.

Upon waking, he suggests 8 oz of hot water with lemon and ginger to get the body moving while you wake up enough to juice.

For breakfast, an orange or red coded juice.

A mid-morning ‘snack’ of 16 oz coconut water, followed by a lunch of a green coded juice.

Afternoon snack should be another orange or red juice, and dinner should be green.

Desserts are purple or orange coded juices, and an herbal tea should be imbibed before bed.

The Reboot with Joe Juice Diet: Lose Weight, Get Healthy and Feel Amazing


While a liquid diet plan works well for most of us, rebooting while pregnant or nursing is very dangerous and should not be attempted.

This diet helps the body to detox while flooding it with the micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, that it requires, giving the body time to reset.

Continuing to juice once you return to eating solid foods is highly recommended.

Liquid Diet Plan 2

The Master Cleanse

One of the most popular diets of today, the dieter mixes together 14 tbsp of lemon juice, 14 tbsp of maple syrup to use throughout the day, adding as much cayenne pepper as they can stand to the mixture when they mix it with water.

Each batch of mixture is made to mix with 2 liters of water total, and every cup should contain the mixture and the cayenne.

This is the daily ‘meal’ for this liquid diet plan.

Drink a cup of it whenever you feel hunger pangs, then follow it with some water, which you should be drinking more than an average amount of.

In the evening, you should mix 1 tbsp sea salt with a liter of warm water and drink quickly. Make sure you do this when you’re on an empty stomach.This will cause you to empty your bowels within half an hour.

If it doesn’t work, try again, doubling the salt. It’s suggested you don’t do this diet for more than 14 days.

Beyond the Master Cleanse: The Year-Round Plan for Maximizing the Benefits of The Lemonade Diet

Many people do 14 day ‘stacks’, cleansing for 14 days, then eating for 5 days, then cleansing again in repetition.

That’s a personal choice, just make sure to use the easing out process.

This entails drinking orange juice for one day, then juices, soups, and broths for the next day, then only eating live foods from then on forward, adopting a healthy set of eating habits.

If you are pregnant, nursing, or hypoglycemic, you should not follow this diet, and as with most diets, you should consult your doctor before undertaking this test of willpower.

Many people use herbal laxatives throughout the day instead of just the salt water flush, so do what feels right for you.

The Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox

“21 pounds in 21 days” is the promise that Dr. Roni DeLuz of the Martha’s Vineyard holistic Retreat’s program promises.

For this diet, a dieter drinks a specific liquid every two hours. Each day, this totals out to 48 oz water, 40 oz herbal tea, 16 oz vegetable soup, and 32 oz of a green vegetable drink.

The plan gives you approximately 1,000 calories a day, including 20 grams of protein.

The pillars of the plan are “Rest, Reduce, Rebuild”.

The author states that by ingesting liquid nutrients, you eliminate toxins and reset the body. The nutrient-rich drinks help you rebuild.

It wasn’t created to be a weight loss diet, but the detoxification effect allows the loss of unwanted weight.

There are 3 general paths someone on this liquid diet plan follows, the two-day, seven-day, or 21-day plan.

They’re all the same schedule of intake, but it’s suggested to do the 21-day plan yearly, the 7-day plan once a season, and the 2-day plan weekly.

There’s a bunch of supplements and services that people on the Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox take, such as enzyme capsules, aloe vera, and a herb cleansing formula.

They also undergo lymph drainage massages, cellulite treatment, liver and kidney flushes, body wraps, detoxifying baths, and weekly coffee enemas.

This cleanse is supposed to metabolize the dieter’s fat, releasing the stored toxins and flushing them from the system. This cleanse is aided by gentle exercise such as trampoline jumping or walking.

After this liquid diet plan, you should follow after-care directions, eating vegetables, drinking soy milk with a protein powder supplement, 3 ounces of salmon, and 1 cup of non-fat yogurt each day.

The body has to learn to digest again, and taking it slow allows for a gentle awakening of the digestive system.

No alcohol or coffee is allowed on this liquid diet plan. The cons to this diet are a severely limited amount of protein, causing muscle wasting, and a limited immune response.

Juicing Cleanse

juicing-cleanse Juicing and good health go together and for most people being healthy is important. A juicing cleanse is one way to achieve optimum health and on top of that juicing can be used to drop weight pretty darn fast!

If you have ever wondered how you can lose weight the fastest, doing a juice fast is the answer.

When To Do A Juicing Cleanse

The best times to do a cleanse are in the spring and in the autumn. According to Chinese medicine, the transition time between the seasons is about ten days before and after each equinox or solstice.

This runs from about March 10th to April 1st in the spring and between September 11th to October 2nd in the fall. Spring fasts are great using lemons or greens or a combo of both. You can dilute lemon with equal amounts of water or use lemon and honey. Also, you can do the spring-time cleansing recipe below. Juicing and weight loss work together to achieve glowing health and a slim body.

Spring Juicing Cleanse

          • 2 tbsps fresh lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 8 -10 ounces of spring water


Mix up and drink up to 12 glasses a day. This is the only thing you should eat or drink other than water, herbal teas like chamomile or peppermint tea. You can also drink any herbal laxative tea you like.

Fall Cleansing

Fresh fruit juice or fresh vegetable juice can be diluted with an equal amount of water can stimulate the body to cleanse itself.

Some good vegetable juices to use are carrots, juicing beets, celery and greens. You can also make soup broths by boiling an assortment of vegetables like potato, carrot, celery, peppers, turnip, squash or any other vegetable.

You then strain the vegetables out (reserving for later to use in soups or stews) and drink the leftover water. The leftover water is full of vitamins and minerals and will induce cleansing. In the fall a fast of 3 to 5 days can be done, by using either water or a variety of freshly squeezed juices.

Those juices could include the master cleanse above, or an apple/grape juice mixed with lemon juice and water , or vegetables juices and broth.

Autumn Juicing Cleanse

Here is another of our healthy juicing recipes you can use to do a fall cleanse.

          • 3 cups spring water
  • 1 tbsp. of fresh ginger root
  • 1-2 stalks green onion, chopped up
  • cilantro to taste, chopped up
  • a pinch of two of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsps. of olive oil
  • the juice or 1 lemon


Start by boiling the water and adding the ginger root. Simmer 15 minutes and turn off the heat. Add green onion, cilantro, cayenne , oil and the lemon juice. Many people have what is called “belly bloat” that they can’t seem to get rid of no matter what they do. Does this sound like you?

Flat Stomach Diet – One Day Sample Menu

Drink 8-10 glasses water every day on a flat stomach diet.


1 packet instant oatmeal or cream of wheat
1 cup milk
handful of raw sunflower seeds, unsalted
1 apple


1 slice of deli turkey
1 low fat 3 oz stick or piece of cheese
1/2 cup grape tomatoes


3 oz chicken breast boneless skinless
1 cup string beans with a little butter
1/2 cup brown rice

You can see that this diet has no bread since bread can bloat you like we mentioned earlier. You also drink lots of water because water will help flush out any toxic build up that might be contributing to
your bloat.

A lot of what gets stuck in a bloated belly is toxic material your body is hanging on to and not eliminating. The trick is to try to get all that build up out of your intestines by eating only low-fat, low-calorie foods and eating fruits and veggies that contain water.

You could also try doing a detox diet for three weeks where you eat plain natural foods, or do a juice diet and drink only fresh fruit and vegetables for a number of days.

This is a simple one day example of a flat stomach diet to reduce the tummy area. So many people experience belly bloat that a guy wrote a book on it called “The Flat Belly Diet”

One bowl of cooked whole grains -specificaiiy millet, brown rice,quinoa, buckwheat or quinoa. You can add the juice of any fruit for for extra flavor. Or, use a little tamari soy sauce or a touch of sea salt.


  • One or two medium bowls of steamed vegetables; be sure to use roots, stems and green parts. For example, potatoes or yams, green beans, broccoli or cauliflower, asparagus, kale, chard, and cabbage. Again, chew all food well.


Same as lunch.

  • Steam vegetables and mix in a little butter or margarine.

You could also make a special butter by mixing a quarter-cup of cold-pressed canola oil into a soft pound of butter; then place in dish and refrigerate.
Use about one tsp per meal and not more than 3 teaspoons daily. (this butter helps prevent the deficiencies of essential fatty acids that can occur when you fast or detox.

Best Detox Diets Tips

Before bed

Eat no food after dinner but drinking water saved from the steamed vegetables you made earlier is allowed. Add a little sea salt if desired.


This is a must. Drink lots of water during a detox diet. At least 10 glasses per day. Fill up a jug of water each morning and sip throughout the day. Get yourself a good bottle with a lid that you can fill up and take with you if you are going to be out most of the day.

Anytime you feel thirsty you can mix a glass of water with a fresh squeezed lemon. Or drink herbal teas like chamomile, peppermint or pau d’arco.

Eat Clean Diet

eat-clean-diet The idea behind the eat clean diet is to eliminate over-processed, refined foods, especially things like white flour and sugar.

This diet was created by Tosca Reno a family nutrition expert, TV host and bestselling author.

She is a mother of several children and at one time weighed over 200 pounds. She was concerned with her health and realized that in order to live a long healthy life for her kids she would have to lose weight and improve her diet.

She created the eat clean diet plan and eat clean diet recipes and wrote a book about this special diet.

If you are concerned with not only dropping some weight but greatly improving your health this may be the diet for you.

 Basic guidelines for the eat clean diet.

  1. Eat 5-6 small meals each day.

2.  Eat every few hours. Every 2-3 hours is a good guideline.

3.  Make sure to combine lean protein and complex carbs at every meal.

4.   Drink at least 8 glasses of fresh water daily.

5.   Don’t miss meals, especially breakfast.

6. Carry a cooler full of clean eating meals to get     through your day.

7.   Avoid all processed, refined foods.. especially sugar and white flour products. They are not good for healthy diets.

8.    Avoid all saturated fats and trans fats.

9.    Avoid colas and juices full of sugar.

10.  Consume adequate good fats (EFA’s each day)

11.  Don’t use alcohol because it is another form of sugar.

12.  Avoid foods with many calories that have no nutritional value.

13.  Eat fresh fruits and vegetables for the fiber content, vitamins and enzymes they contain.

14.  Stick to smaller, proper size food portions.

  • porridge
  • egg white and spinach scramble
  • cottage cheese pancakes


  • Tofu cabbage rolls
  • Chicken strips with tofu
  • Low fat turkey burgers

  • Pork tenderloin
  • Tuna salad

Snacks can include salads, fresh fruit and veggies and low calorie foods that are not packaged, processed or refined.

The most important thing to remember with this diet happens in the grocery store when you shop. Make sure you read labels and do not buy foods that are refined and processed, full of sugar or white flour.

This means not buying pre-packaed conveinence foods but rather natural whole foods as close to the way nature made them.

Try shopping in the organic section because many of those foods are minimally processed and all around healthier for you.

It might be more expensive but if you cut back on how much food you eat, you will find that your grocery bill stays about the same.

Eating  clean will clear out your body of all the toxic junk you have built up over time and help your body to function better.

A healthy body absorbs more nutrition because your body starts to digest the food better and also eliminate the digested foods easier and faster.

It is a three phase diet plan that is made up of:

Phase 1. A two week fat flush (based on 1100-1200 calories per day)

Phase 2. An ongoing fat flush (based on 1200-1500 calories per day)

Phase 3. A lifestyle eating plan (based on 1800 calories plus per day)

A good idea is to use a juice fast diet for a couple days, then eat lightly for a few days, and then do a couple more days of juice fasting.

I personally use Jack La Lannes juicer and I find it terrific. It makes lots of juice and has special safety features. Really great if you have kids and are safety conscious.

Whatever you do, do not use the BIG BOSS JUICER.  It was an infomercial juicer.

Infomercial stuff is usually low quality and is just made in order to make big bucks for someone.You often get low quality dollar store stuff.

I bought the big boss juicer because it was the cheapest one and boy was that a big mistake.

They did not even smooth the inside edges of the pieces when they made it in the factory so when I went to scoop out the pulp that gets left over from the juice in order to clean it out, I sliced my finger open.

Do not buy the BIG BOSS JUICER.  It was cheaply made and it sucks BIG BOSS TIME.

Below are your three days of juicing recipes for weight loss to use on this diet.

There are a total of 6 juices and you can drink them in any order you like and as much as you like.

Except you will probably find that sipping 3 glasses of juice is usually best. One for morning, noon and night. That is, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You want to drink lots of water in between juices ( and don’t forget to sneak a few grapes)

Drink these juices for 3 days if  you want  fast weight loss or use them to do a one day a week fast with a low calorie diet like the 1000 calorie diet plan.

Your Juicing Recipes For Weight Loss


Fun Fruit Juice

1 pear,1 lemon, 1 wedge pineapple (I personally love lots of pineapple, so if you do too use lots of it in this drink)

Vegetable V8 Cocktail

1-2 tomatoes, 1 carrot, 2 celery stocks, 1/2 cucumber

Can’t Elope Surpise

1/2 cup grapes, 1 apple, 1 orange, 1/4 cantaloupe

Berry Nice

1 cup raspeberries or strawberries, 1 cup blueberries, 2 oranges peeled

Fruit Delight

1 wedge pineapple, 1 wedge watermelon, 6 strawberries, 1 cantaloupe wedge

Lean Green Machine

1 big handful green grapes, 1 kiwi, 1 cucumber, a few broccoli flowerets

Instructions: Peel all fruits and vegetables and cut up into smaller pieces then feed slowly through your juicer. Drink up within half hour.


Juicing Tip

Peel all fruit or vegetables before you juice. It is advisable (if you are concerned about toxins that are sprayed on produce) to use a mix of 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar and soak veggies or fruit for 15 minutes before juicing.  This will take off most of the chemicals that may have been sprayed on during growing.

Most fruits for juicing are peeled anyway, so it is mainly the vegetables that you will want to soak in the vinegar/water solution. If you soak porous fruits like peaches for example they may absorb some of the vinegar flavor so take care not to soak soft fruits.

These juicing recipes for weight loss are not the only juice recipes out there. However, they are good starter recipes for you to try to help you loss weight for a shorter period of time.

List of High Fiber Foods

To start on your high fiber diet plan you need to either chose high fiber foods from a high fiber foods list or use the following high fiber diet plan as a sample to get started.

You can also use the list of high fiber foods and create your own fiber diet eating plan or menus that will be fiber rich.

High Fiber Diet Plan Sample

Here is a high fiber eating plan that gives you some idea of how to eat to get enough fibre. It shows the food and the amount of fiber only, calories are excluded for this example.

1/2 cup apple juice (125ml) 0.5 g
1 cup cooked oat bran cereal (250ml) 4.1 g
topped with milk 0.0 g
1/4 cup raisins (50ml) 3.5 g


1 Bran muffin 2.5 g


1 cup Split pea soup (250 ml) 5.3 g
Tuna sandwich on whole grain bread
bread 3.0 g
tuna 0.0 g
1 cup low fat milk (250ml) 0.0 g


1 large apple 4.0 g


3 oz cooked chicken breast (90g) 0.0 g
1 baked potato baked with skin 3.6 g
1/4 cup fresh mixed peas (50 ml) and 1 chopped carrot   4.3 g
salad greens 1.0 g
1 cup low fat milk (250 ml) 0.0 g

Total Fiber 31.8 g


Although dietary fiber is good for you, make sure not to over do it. Too much fiber can make you feel bloated or gassy. Always increase your fiber slowly to help control gas.
Fiber needs water to work best, so drink lots and lots of water.
